History of Changing Future

Article Summary by: Optimism

Original Author: Optimism
Alas, at last the future is changing. It is no longer what is used to be in the past. We are day by day creating more distances
amongst ourselves; we don''''t now dare to dream. Slowly we are becoming used to smaller dreams and much bigger yet harsher realities. Yet the aim remains to conquer the uncharted, to reach the unreachable.
But is this possible any more now?
"Everything that can be invented has been invented ", who can forget these famous or rather infamous words by the then head of US patents office. But isn''''t it becoming more contextual, more relevant today?
Lets us crawl back to history of future. Yesterdays learning''''s, today''''s implementation and tomorrows dreams kept on changing the future. In the process when we saw the launch of commercial operation of flights to moon, robotic stock traders, and naked ladies on Mars, we never realized.
In fact the people who dreamt all these were able to see those become realities in their own life time.
What was the reason?
One thing is for sure that the future is slowly becoming boring, repetitive and mostly incremental. People just talk about only new versions in software, Intel 4..5 ..99 , incremental polyester products and at most some new up gradations of disprin. Of late instead of breakthrough innovations we have started to mostly worry about incremental innovations and are happy to do and report that.
Hey is this what our kids may be dreaming of ?
May be most of are not big thinkers but dreamers yes we all are . To make a comprehensive list of dreams I am making a beginning , please do add yours to make it a world''''s dream list :

1. Polymer less world or may be polymer made from air
2. Farming in desert or what about including oceans also
3. Thinking robots
4. A disprin for AIDS
5. Ear chips replacing cell phones
6. Solar electricity , and the list go on..

Some of the above are seemingly silly , yet I believe so were rockets , TV , Travel to moon and of course the Fax machine.
