Trains Today

Article Summary by: Hechkok

Original Author: Hesham Magdi

I know there have been lots of accidents and disasters lately, I know it lake of accuracy more and more, I know
you can spend 15 minutes just to clarify your seat number, despite of all that I still find the train as the funniest known way of travelling.
After you check into your seat and place your luggage, and it isn’t an easy step by the way with the very organized way of thinking that people have, you can just fall asleep till you arrive, or you can chitchat with someone beside you without worrying about the road, you can read a book silently or watch the beautiful sunset from the window, it turns your journey into the most pleasant one, even if you are travelling into new countries or visiting new places, it gives you the chance to view the sites and the landscapes better than the quick look of a plane and the worry look of a speeding car.
If you are not alone in this journey, with a partner may be, you can share a long conversation with a cup of tea and some biscuits, or a small snack, promenading from a subject to another, with a kind of a free spirit, something only felt on a trip or a shared journey or a long road.
A wide screen of landscapes, forests, gardens, deserts, rivers, lakes buildings and even people is opened by your side, a calm changing screen saver is running to relax you and let you travel with your thoughts and recall forgotten memories.
It takes a moment like this to realize something in your life; it takes a moment like this just to see the whole picture once more, to see what you missed in your daily run, what escaped through your fingers while trying to catch your life, and it is all about you after that, will you respond to it or just analyse it.
You get also the chance to over look the faces around you and to imagine lots of stories from separated words and laughs or snores, a father blaming his bored like hell child about some silly bag, a noisy wife telling story after story to a helpless husband totally faking his attention, mother and daughter sharing a long secretive conversation about a proposed groom, two lovers sharing whispering words and two sleeping fat ladies, snoring in a very weird rhythm.
Normal people with normal life problems, it is rarely when you notice a strange looking person or an interesting imaginary story.
When I get to think I would prefer to use only trains and boats to travel from one place to another, and I would use planes only in emergency cases.
And at last as the Arabic proverb say “the good companion is chosen before the travelling road” here.
