Book Summary by: tejumola

Original Author: tj
Chief Adetokunbo Kayode, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, has inaugurated a Fish House in Argungu, as the 2008 Argungu
International Fishing and Cultural Festival commenced. The Fish House was built by the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) in the shape of a fish to symbolise the concept of the festival.
The NTDC Director General, Chief Segun Runsewe on the occasion said the facility would help to reduce the infrastructure problem at the ancient fishing town of Argungu.
Governor Sa''idu Dakingari of Kebbi State commended Runsewe, for his contribution toward the development of tourism in the state. In a key note address to declare the festival open, the minister emphasised the role of culture and tourism in revenue generation. According to him, the ministry is poised to ensure that the culture sector yields revenue through the development of cultural industries.
Kayode said the Ministry had mapped out 12 cultural festivals across the country, including Argungu Festival, for the promotion of the Nigerian culture.
