I once went to a conference dinner and as we sat at our tables, we
noticed there was a
small plastic ruler on each table. We were
intrigued. They had been placed there by one of the speakers. He
explained that his
father used to be a tailor. His father said to
him, "You can
measure once, measure twice...even measure three
times, but then you have to cut."
How true! We can spend a
lot of
time thinking about what we could
or should do. At some point we just have to take a deep breath and
make a move. Even a small
step sometimes gets you closer to where
you want to be rather than a whole lot of extra thinking.
What small step can you take today to be stronger, more courageous
or more loving?
