In most Africa countries, women have been known to loose their shelter after the death of their
husbands. This particular woman have to move to stay with relatives until she is able to get a new place.many widows have been schemed out of their
husbands benefits like it happens in most southern part of nigeria where she will be made to go through demeaning widowhood rite like shaving off her hair, sitting on the cold bare floor, not taking bath for many days and being forced to cry continuosly.
As increadible as it may sound, it is happening and would continue to happen once
tradition is concerned unles individuals or government do something about it.
To show concern, one haqve to ask the question why does these only happen when women loose their husbands or should they understand that they trusted the wrong people and never trust any any one? But many tradition put the answer on the issue of next of kin. If the woman has a male child,she can keep the husbands properties as it will bel;ng to her child, but if otherwise, she has to face the worse.
so this creat an opportunity for every woman to be self dependant and be cnciuose about her right as a woman to protect her self.
