Zoroaster was born, according to legends, about 660 BC of an immaculate conception. The religion spoke of two gods. The god of wisdom with his helper Mithra and Achriman the evil god. All the evils are created by Achriman. The Jewish concept of Satan is derived from Achriman of Zoroastrianism. The Zoroasters believe in a paradise and a hell. The pious after death go to the immortal heaven and the impious into the hell. They believe in a judgement day too.
Between Achrim,an and Ormuzd, the good god there is a ceaseless fight. They believe that the good god will defeat the evil one eventually and pout him in shackles.
Christianity has adopted a lot from Zoroastrianism. The concepts of heaven and hell, the fight between the evil and good gods, the immaculate conception are all fully adopted by Christianity.
By adopting so much from the then existing religions it was easy for the preachers to present the new religion to the ‘pagans.’ Is there any wonder in the rapid spread of Christianity?
