Springs Colorado offers allot of recreation opportunities only 30 minutes west from Denver, CO and located in Clear Creek County. They have a number of white water rafting tours down the either Arkansas or Clear Creek Rivers. The foundation of Idaho Springs was prompt by Gold Rush of 1859. Just along the Clear Creek River there are two famous mines. These mines include the Phoenix and Argo Gold mines. If you want to you can pan for gold and see you have any luck finding any gold. Idaho Springs has a unique mix of history and adventurous recreation opportunities. This area seems to be overlooked because it does not have a resort or commercial atmospheres like towns of Vail, Aspen or Winter Park. Instead it makes the visitor feel they where back in the years with Victorian Homes and narrow roads leading to either gold mines or river rafting tours or just a hike in the Roosevelt National Forest. The city has different rustic homes and historical museums.
