Communication is a big term.
Formal, informal, written, spoken, personal, official - there is hardly a type of exchange that You do not engage through everyday.

So communication seems pretty important because it occupies You day in and day out.

More to Communication
But there's more to it that makes us take this one up:
Your everyday communication decides your Happiness levels for the day. This is almost unbeatable if one looks on an average over weeks and months.
Also, it is a given that predominantly there is at least one other participant in almost all these communication engagements.

And it is precisely from here, that You can draw upon a relatively easy-to-implement communication strategy for yourself. To maximize your gains from these engagements.

Your bastion of effective communication
The Truth: At all times and under all circumstances, an effective message can only be delivered by You from a sound position of control. Which we call the 'Communication Bastion'.

So, You to be able to effectively communicate, need to perch yourself on a vantage position- one that helps you with exercising legitimate control on the engagement.

And, the microscopic details can always be worked out under this broad strategy- "An effective message can only be delivered by You from a sound position of control."

Your sound position of control
It's important yet it is actually simple.

Generally, a sound position is the default if you have exposed yourself by practicing sufficiently with a variety of communication types. It's extremely important to experiment and expose yourself to a wide variety.

Just one point to strengthen the understanding. What do You think is the most common mistake in effective communication? It's letting it out raw. Do not overly communicate the first-emotional-reaction.

Good arguments, while communicating, only flower when logical thoughts merge judiciously with an emotional topping. You can't just sell the topping. And a judicious merging only happens when You are in control.
