I like to say some words about the way I see it in believing God. I had a different religious background before, but all the same, I was curious about the matter of God. I remember a few times when I was little; I would stare directly at the strong equatorial sun to see if God could be found there. I think there is a natural response for many of us which wants to locate the supernatural. We believe that there is someone out there who is higher than us, that in whom, we have been acknowledging and calling as “God” for many-many generations. If we believe that we are created than going through evolution, then I think it explains why we are curious as we are, and it could be that the one who made us has also put a sense of “eternity in the heart” in us. It implies that we feel a sense of vacuum feeling in us which only can be met by the matter of the supernatural – having God or religion in us through belief.
When I embraced Christianity, I felt in the beginning that I had really found something valuable. But the feeling died off slowly and I found myself still wondering a lot. Then one day during a sermon, I learnt about “having a personal relationship with God”. I had never seen Christianity in that way but it suddenly made quite a lot of sense to me about having my faith in someone I called God. Since then, it has become much easier for me to understand why I believe God and how to approach Him.
I believe that God loves us and wants to bless us. What concerns Him is not complex or complicated. When we walk closely with Him, we will experience His heart of enormous love. If we find life difficult, it is us who have made the world and everything in it extremely complicated, not God.
