Difference Between Resume and Curriculum Vitae

Article Summary   by:Daimler     Original Authors: Alison Doyle; Brian Yothers; Maryse Jayasuriya
ª

The primary and most noticeable difference between Curriculum Vitae (CV)'s and resumes is the length. Resumes are usually one to two pages summary of your education, skills and experience. It use to be brief, and a good resume should make the resume reader able to review your qualifications by just a minute or so. CV's, however, often run to two or more pages that reflect very specifically your abilities as a researcher, teacher, and publishing scholar within your discipline. You also need to include your research experience, publications, presentations, awards, honors, affiliations and other details appropriately.
