Article Summary by: ashwani

And Transfer of Insurance of Vehicle refused
Tata AIG General Insurance Company Ltd. refused insurance of vehicle Maruti
1998, Zen because its associate Auto Risk Management Services Pvt. Ltd.Hemkunt House, Rajendra Place, New Delhi-110008 recommended not to insure the vehicle. Because it had a scar on front W.S.Glass, though inspection note writes it as broken dicky written as minor dented, broken rear bumper, tail lamp broken, front bumper scratched, fog lamp not fitted, fender and door dented.Tyres average. Accessories like stereo, centre lock not available, though very much there till writing this note.
Insurance will not be done by Tata AIG until I rectify or get the above rectified. And very interesting fact remains that when I purchased this vehicle, except for scar on glass which has extended over a period of three years. Only glass technologist can understand this phenomenon of breakage. I only know that hard flowers frequently fall from tree outside my house where the vehicle is parked under the tree.
Earlier vehicle was insured with a different Insurance Company. After one year, some friend of mine promoted Tata AIG and insured the vehicle, more or less in same condition. I don’t know weather photos taken or not. Second year again insured, with very sweet follow up extending no claim bonus but surely without any inspection.
A beautifully wrapped cover and Policy and lot of information on pamphlets attached was provided. In January, I got the vehicle transferred in my name from Transport Department of National Capital and was given Smart Card. Insurance being valid till 18th Sept.2006, they found the papers as complete and issued the Certificate and transferred the ownership from my wife to me.
The Agent told me if vehicle owners have changed, Insurance Company needed to be informed. I went through the literature provided and prepared papers for transfer of Insurance. The agent kept the same for 15 days, without any action .I spoke on Toll free no. and rushed to Tata AIG with my wife, with severe Angina problem. The INSPECTING Officer appeared within half an hour as told, to inspect vehicle. He made the findings as given above and I signed, at site without reading the inspection report which had cleared mentioned, Recommended for Insurance-NO. And took my signature without narrating or telling me a single word. I did not have my specs, presuming whatever he noted must be facts, so very fine and professional work is being carried out. But I did not notice any smile or expression said to be normal on his face. He was behaving as if Government of India Tax Department Officer on a mission .I could never imagine, the report is negative for Insuring, rather was happy with the system. He took lot of photographs, made us sit in car to take pics of car and us from different angles.
I CAME TO KNOW ABOUT not recommended, so can not be insured because many things are broken, from Executive of Tata AIG.
I REQUESTED, PLEASE INSURE EXCLUDING DAMAGE OR BROKEN ARE SEEN OR MENTION NECESSARY EXCLUSIVES.
Thank God, regret with inability was expressed with an advice for getting the vehicle set right for transfer of Insurance.
So the situation is vehicle which is absolutely in running condition, denied insurance unless glass replaced, dents removed, lamp replaced, rear Bumper replaced.
Now vehicle is owned by me, Insurance is in her name. Should I re-transfer the vehicle to her to continue availing the luxury of ownership of Insurance Policy?
Should I send a Salute to Inspecting Officer who got my signatures without narrating the content of report created?
