john & slocum (1971) and chernick and joseph (1974) have reported that need
satisfaction is positively related to job level . bose (1976) also advo cated positive relation . ship between job satisfaction and job level , but pandeet . (1975) found supervisors to be satisfied compared to workers ansaril (1978) found no difference in the experience of employees job satisfaction across job levels .
Recently , meera (1993) conducted astudy on 150 female primary school teachers who completed ajob satisfaction scale regarding intrinsic aspect of their jobs , service conditions , and salary , ist institutional policies , social status , and relation ship with coworkers. The result concluded that female teachers were more satisfied than male teachers . another study conducted and kumar and achanamba on comparative analysis of job satisfaction and job
involvement among public sector and private sector emoloyees , suggests appositive relation ship between job satisfaction and involvement .
In our culture , as in many others , there is astrang desive to be approved and respected by others , especially by ones friend . if an individual is to have job satisfaction , he must feel that he is at par with his friends . the factary worker whose friends also work in afactory can feel he is as good as they are he will have greater job satisfaction than the factory workers whose friends are mainly office workers .
