Never prostrate in front of any Deity , God or Goddess; unless you love yourself, Respect yourself and in turn you start to Respect the Swirling Humanity around you in different Forms and Embodiments; as Prostration is Symbolic Form of bending Low to the Fellowmen to listen, to help out, to reach out to Whosoever in Need of you. Bending Low and Stooping Low are Poles apart; while in the Former it is glittering with Humility and Dignity , in the latter it is embracing the Nadir of Ignominy; as they say "A Tree laden with Fruits Bends Low" ------ Not Stoops Low. Spirituality does not reside in the Temple or the Holy Places of Worship of different castes and creeds, it does actually reside in the Hearts of Human beings. Hence through ages we have been weaned on the Doctrines of Righteousness, Moral rectitude, Love thyself as well as others so that the dross gets washed away or eroded day by day from Within and the Soul can shine brilliantly and we, as Human Being, can distinguish between actual "Prostration" and dull, dreary routine of "Lying Flat Face Down" in front of the Christ, Brhamma or any Deities glorifying our Temples, embellished with crores worth of Ornaments when the Christ or Brhammas in embodied forms go begging around for morsel of food or shelter from cruel wintry night. If all of our Spirituality is bound within the Four Walls of shrines and dry chanting of 'Hymns' and Religious Scriptures without 'Turning inward' it is not only Futile but at times may convert us to be Intolerant to other Religions thus drowning the essence of 'Spirituality', which is the Same through the Ages and does hold the Same Meaning across the Length and Breadth of Humanity here at this point in time and the time to come. The great Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore thus wrote and I quote " -----
Go not to the Temple
To put Flowers upon the Feet of God,
First fill your own House with
The Fragrance of Love.
Go not to the Temple to light candles
Before the altar of God,
First remove the Darkness of Sin from your Heart.
Go not to the Temple
To bow down your Head in Prayer,
First learn to bow in Humility before your Fellowmen.
Go not to the Temple to pray on bended knees,
First bend down to lift someone who is downtrodden.
Go not to the Temple to ask for forgiveness for your sins,
First forgive from your Heart those who
Have sinned against you." Thus the "Fountain of Spirituality" is Within and flows from Within not to be manifested in Rites and Rituals but to " Bend Low as the Fruit Laden Tree to get nearer to the Earth so that all and sundry can Taste its Luscious Fruits" and wallow in the warmth of Love that it bestows with folded Hands.
