Beautiful mind matters

Book Summary by: madhuahuja

Original Author: Madhu Ahuja
Externally nobody looks same, not even twins. So why do we compare our External selves with others?
Blame the media.

Media ranks Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Milind Soman etc as “real” beauties. So where do you and I rank? Nowhere in the list of beauties?
Media rates rich, models , film stars, TV actors etc as beautiful because they get their income from these actors in the form of advertisements, PR activities and by paid for journalism.
Fair, tall, handsome, long legged, clear face, slim etc are defined by the media as "beautiful" people.
But nobody is born with the all of the above traits. Actors use creams, make ups, hair colours, make over their face to get the shine & spend thousands of rupees to look what we see them in photos.
10 years down the line , same models go for Botox, face lifts, liposuctions etc spending lakhs of rupees to look what we see them in the media.
But at what cost are these models faking their external image? The reality is they are insecure about their looks themselves. Since they can't accept themselves with their wrinkled face, a little extra mass on their bodies, zits etc they keep going to the beauty parlours and experiment their bodies under the knife.
The real beauty is internal beauty.
When you accept others just the way they are without being judgemental at all about their weight, height, lenght, cellulite, wrinkles, pimples, zits, pores, excessive hair, unsymmetric body etc, that's true love for others beings.
What matters in a conversation with other human beings are human values of trust, faith., love, care and companionship.
Our external body keeps changing as we grow old. They are NOT constant structures.
What remains constant is what you are in your mind- True lover or Selfish being.
When you choose to love others unconditionally, you get many true companions.
But when you choose to be selfish, self centered and only doing things for yourself, you do NOT get true companions at all.
External image changes as each day passes by but the internal beautiful mind constantly serves others life long.

    Beautiful mind matters

The term beauty is only skin deep is one of the truest sayings I have ever heard. Who knows what they are missing when they don't give the less beautiful, less rich, less appealing a chance. The media does put to much emphisis on looks, clothing, brand of clothing etc. but, I think to some extent the public demands it that way, I just call it entertainment. We all put our pants on one leg at a time.
