The Right Strokes For Living

Book Summary by: Chandrakant Mallya

Original Author: Chandrakant Mallya
The Right Strokes For Living
Our Food: Our food is our grave or our life-force! We should eat to live, not live to
eat! When we agree for the necessity to be kind to animals, where is the place for meat eating? No place in our diet for items those disturb or destroy the equanimity or peace of mind either. Consuming alcohol is a sin--please note! Regularity of food habits is another watchword! Here again, we have to observe, learn and take hints from animals and birds. Better fast, than consume stale food. Nature gives appropriate fruits and vegetables during different seasons, and nature provides their 'expiry date' for each item. Take note of these hints carefully. Avoid artificially stored and colored food. Stop eating, a little before your want to eat more.
The quality and quantity of food that you consume have a direct bearing on the functioning of your mind, always remember. Say a prayer, before you eat!
Use of vehicles and exercise: Talk less and walk more, and as you walk, always observe, observe and wonder! This feeling of wonder will fill you with happiness. Time is the enemy of these fast moving vehicles. These vehicles, besides adding to the atmospheric pollution, have taken out the habit of walking out of an individual. Kitchen gadgets have put a stop to the natural movements of exercise. Therefore, we find new ailments cropping up with names unheard of--names of medicines also unheard of. There was a time when people went on pilgrimage by walk and it took months to complete it. Vehicles and other modern gadgets have utility but let them not lead us to the most unwanted vehicle--ambulance! Exercise regularly. This body is the abode provided by God for the soul. Maintain it properly. Only a healthy body is conducive for spiritual progress.
