The exact cause of eye-bags is unknown, but they’re often due to stress and strain. Lack of refreshing sleep is usually a contributing factor, meaning that although you may get your hours a
night, it’s not enough of the right kind of sleep. If your body is tense and your mind is active before going to
bed your thought process
will be racing, causing you
to dream more.
Consequently you’ll wake up still feeling tired, with that classic baggy-eyed look. Cosmetic surgery or botox injections can correct aged loose skin, but if you follow our advice on getting a good night’s sleep it’s unlikely these would be necessary.
The checklist for a good
night’s sleep
l Try exercising in the evening to unwind, and spend an hour or two mentally switching off before hitting the sack.
l Avoid alcohol, caffeine and
eating just before bed, as these can all cause broken sleep.
l Go for healthy eating with the right nutrients to help your body repair mechanisms maintain vibrant-looking skin around your eyes.
Slow massaging the skin under your eyes twice daily will help a lot to tone up any loose skin too
