Humble People Brazil, five times world-wide champion of the soccer world cup! Only country to participate of all the pantries! The favourite country to gain the 2006 championship ! A millionaire selection of players! The world all admires our art soccer, fun soccer that enchants the crowds and makes the adversaries teams tremble, and the brazilians blow up their chests of pride with their team, dress the green-yellow shirts, decorate the streets with the national colours as a patriotism signal and wait anxiously for one more demonstration in the field of our undisputed soccer superiority. For all that we should be proud of being Brazilians, shouldn't we?But why I'm not happy? If we analise our situation from a different angle, maybe we won't find so many reasons to commemorate, we will come across a situation of total desperation and impotence. Let us see: desperation can be exemplifyed by the total incapacity of the constituted government (read it the State), in diminishing the enormous social abyss that separates the Brazilians, the same Brazilians that every four years sing in uniso "I am Brazilian..., with much pride..., with much loooove..." for the lack of investments in basic sanitation, health, education; at last, in everything that is basic to the population of a country and not yet was reached by the great majority of our people. And is this majority that feverishly cheers for the Brazilian soccer team and deposits in the 23 players all it's fidgets and yearnings. Desparing is also the fact that the non-constituted state (read it Faction), or the state inside the state, defies the authorities, establishing its headquarters in the interior of its installations, where theoretically it would not place risk to the society and among others demand things, as to follow the games of the soccer team through modern plasma television sets, high priced object, a luxury and inaccessible to the majority.
And curiously is that the claims are taken care of, under risk of stoppage of the richest state of the federacy. But what's the reason to abide so insignificant details, after all we are in year of the world-wide cup, we have the best soccer team and we do not wait nothing less than the victory. The impotence can be summarized in a question: “So what???” What will change? The reply it's: nothing. All the problems mentioned above are of public knowledge, already they last through the years, the corruption is part of our culture, the people does not possess joint capacity, and for long left doesn't practise its rights of claim, and is easily manipulated by the government that among others cunnings, uses the soccer as mass of maneuver, adopting the already applied, but the not less efficient, Roman politics of the “bread and circus”. For all these factors that I continue with my sadness while I sing that song of Chico, that says more or less this: “It has certain days where I think about my people .....”
