The Marxist Religion

Book Summary   by:Clacir Virmes Junior     Original Author: Rodrigo Constantino
ª
This abstract was translated from A Religião Marxista

Few intellectuals
exercised such direct influence like Karl Marx. His ideas, after all,
was put in practice by convicted followers like Lenin, Stalin, and
Mao Tsé-Tung, sacrificing millions of lifes on utopia's altar.
The marxism intended be scientific, and such term was commonly used
by Marx himlself. It would be crucial, so, we will analyse how
scientific was his work. For the study of Marx's life clarifies, he
not had the characteristics of a scientist that was interested in the
search of the truth. He seemed more to a prophet, concerned to
proclaim it. His messianic tone and his eschatological writing,
influenced by the poetic backgroud, nothing had of scientific. His
apocalyptic vision of a enormous catastrophe ready to fall in over
the current system despised the necessity of evidences supported by
facts. Such characteristic conquered many followers by the wishing of
believe in the oncoming end of capitalism, dispensing the use of the
reason. Marx had a great talent like polemic journalist, and knew use
aphorisms in a intelligent way, even though the majority was copied
from others authors. But his merit abided on use of the words to
instigate the feelings and revolt of his readers. The elaboration of
his philosophy was a retoric exercise, without the sustentation of
solid pillars. Apart of the real world, in his intellectual bunker,
he would do all to confirm his preconceived ideas. He afirmed be the
defender of the proletarians, and until where we know, he never was
in any factory. His allies was middle-class intellectuals, like him,
and there was inclusive of certain disregard on working class. A
serious scientist search new data that can deny his tesis. Marx never
did it; unlike it: he tried find the right kind of information,
adequate for his considered in advance theories. All his approaching
was in the meaning of justification of something declared like being
the truth, not in the imparcial investigation of the facts. The
conviction was of a believer, not of a scientist. The data was
subordinate by his researching works, having only to reforce the
reached conclusions independently of them. With such method, was
written his classic work, The Capital, full of contradictions, wrong
or outdated data, suspected sources or even manipulations and
falsifications. Even as in the work of his partner Engels, the
flagrant disregard and the tendentious distortion was present in the
writings of Marx, proving a unmistakable dishonesty. Some examples
deserve a stand out for a better understanding of this total omission
of compromise with the truth, basic premise for anyone that consider
oneself a scientist. In shouting examples, he used cases of decades
ago to show a supposed nefarious consequence of capitalism, being the
own capitalism that made the perverse situation disappear. He chose
also industries where the working conditions were particularly bad,
like being tipical of the capitalism. However, these specific cases
was justly in the industries where the capitalism didn't give its
subservience, and the firms didn't have conditions to implant
machinery for privation of capital. The reality screamed that as more
capital, less the suffering of the workers. Marx didn't have the
lesse interesting to listen this sounding claim of the facts. To save
the theory, and at last instance his hate to the capitalism, was more
important than the truth. Call this scientific is a complete absurd.
Indeed, we can try search the encouragers of Marx in some views of
his character. He fed a profound taste for the violence, letting on
it in all his life. He wished ardently the power. He showed a
irresponsible and infantile incompetence to manage money, being
constant victim of moneylenders. And he showed a inclination to
explore those who was around him, including his family and best
friends. Probably, his gall reflected a frustration to posses ceratin
potentialities but be disabled txercise them practically. Marx had
a bohemian and lazy life during his youth. He showed a enormous
incapability to manage money, wasting always more than he received,
leeching his familiar and friends, or appealling to moneylenders. It
can be in the root of his hate to the capitalism system and also his
anti Semitism, since the jews used the miserliness commonly. He
borrowed money, wasted in a foolish way, and after was nervous with
the collection. He passed to see the interest like a crime against
the humanity, an exploitation of man to man. He doesn't concern to
verify that the problem was, in fact, in his complete
irresponsibility. he arrived to the point to be disinherited by his
motther, that once refused pay his debts. He found out refuge in
Engels, a rich heritor and the major source of finance of Marx, that
passed to live like a pensioner in a rentier. His wife, from a noble
family, was also source of equities to Marx. That who considered the
work a exploration, never wanted to work or have relatinship with the
workers. He was proud of the noble progeny of his wife and still
lived to the costs of the money of the other ones. Few are the cases,
in my opinion, where only one intellectual concentrates a lot of
extavagant ideas. Beyond that, the disdain for Marx grows when we
know his life and his character, without saying the fact which the
concretin of his ideals dropped an ocean of innocent blood. After
all, the self proclaimed of such absurd and contradiction have a
scientific support is a crime against the science and the reason. If
the religion is the opium of the people, like Marx says, the marxism
is the crack. His followers - and they are still many, mainly among
the intellectuals - need to dispise the use of reason to keep on the
dogmatical faith on marxism. It wasn't the reason that failed in the
Marx's ideas. It was the omission of it, needed to save the
dogmatical religion that is the marxism.
