But the pride and glory was imminent.
So today when youth seek more lucrative careers

Foreign trips,5 star lifestyle is what they aspire
The call of the Olive Green provides no boost.
Is it a surprise when we hear of tales
as
heart wrenching as that of this gutsy lad
Who sat donning military fatigues, winning laurels
Could be in a suicidal shroud, clad?
For the call of duty, he set forth
To hostile terrains albeit with a heavy heart
A radiant bride waiting at home
nestling the symbol of his love, who would want to part?
And even if he took such a drastic measure
Who is to be held responsible?
Those who discuss bus diplomacies at leisure
Or the work conditions that made it plausible.
The ominous call, distant and curt
Sent the father reeling in shock.
The unceremonious farewell compounded the hurt
Sure the generation X would sit and mock
Perfunctory mention in the local press
