Making a Difference

Book Summary by: Addi

Original Author: John Barrera
Reading the Article "Making a Difference" was a very interesting article about a woman, though Blind managed to get on with
her life despite her handicap.I think it encourages people with similar handicaps or any other kinds of disabilities, to not be discouraged and pursue your dreams, no matter how impossible it may seem. For where there is life, there is hope. The story says a lot about this woman, who pursued her dream about music and how she could practice it and bring joy not only to herself, but to others.
The Article was published in the "The War Cry"May 29,1999 and would be a welcome addition to anyone wanting to know life such as it is, healthy or otherwise.
Not only does this woman volunteer for the Salvation Army at Christmas time, but she brings to it her Musical talents and her Humor along with the daily routine of the day and of that special time of year . She also formed a country band called" Added Touch".I myself have seen her perform at a few facilities in Bradenton,Fl. She is great!!
Putting people in a good mood is what she does and what she enjoys. From what I read, she has gotten a lot of encouragement from people of all walks of life for her talents, her interests and her humanity. We all should take a long hard look on ourselves and follow her lead. She plays Piano well and with such pleasure. Her band that she had is no more, but that does not stop her from doing the work she loves best, playing the piano and performing.
She calls herself the ringing bell singer. She went to three different schools, has been blind at birth, and is doing what she loves best along with a lot of faith.
