Has anyone made any money with
shvoong.com?
By Susan Rand
I have several articles
up on Shvoong and Constant Content and others of their ilk for about a year and have not seen a cent. My advice is to avoid them.
This answer has earned me more in twelve hours than I have made in Shvoong since December.

I tried them a while ago, but I am making more money putting my reviews in my blog www.reviewqueen.writingup.com than I could ever make there. www.inspiredauthor.com offers more money, and they pay.
It is just strange that I have never heard of anyone passing this site's name around.

I have joined shvoong for two months. I have just submitted six abstracts and translated two articles. There are people reading my
abstract, more than 20 visits for each abstract at this moment. One even reach 66 visits before I submit this
writing (2nd of May). However, I do not get paid at all in April. As shvoong only pays you when someone clicks on the advertisement link in your abstract and will not pay you for the number of visits you have got. So, it is actually a very tough website to earn money.

very difficult...

I have to say it's very difficult to make good money on Shvoong.com. That is because it all depends on whether anyone clicks on the ads Shvoong places on the page where your abstract is located. Just make a thought. How many times do you click on a Google Ad or an ad link? Moreover, you just get 10% from the ad profit on your abstract's page.
Your abstract must be very attractive and looks very interesting so people will read it. So think of the effort you have to make when writing a good abstract and the little revenue you may earn from it. It's just not worth!
No, but that may not be their fault

I've submitted a number of abstracts to shvoong but have had no reads. In fairness, that's probably because they've all been reviews of academic science texts which, let's face it, aren't going to be money spinners. But that's not why I submit reviews to shvoong. For money making reviews, I use ReviewStream, Ciao and Epinions. But like I say, it probably depends on what you're writing about.

My Earnings

I've only been contributing to Shvoong for six weeks. In this time, I've made 9 cents. that 1.5 cents a week. So, in order to reach the minimum payout of 10 dollars, I'd have to wait 12.8 years!!

It pays very little. I would say it is a waste of time. Forget it

Shvoong.com do some pretty slick advertizing on most writing websites.
At Schvoong.com you can post reviews. The catch however; is they only pay you 10 percent of advertising revenue from google adsense ads.
Come on people! There are other sites that split adsense revenue with you www.writingup.com splits 50/50. Allreaders.com will pay you a $1 for a book review, and reviewstream.com pay .40cents for book and movie reviews. Not a lot, but definatly more than Schvoong.

I've writen 16 reviews for Shvoong during the past year, and for my efforts I've accumulated $3.22. I won't see any money, however, until I've reached the level of $10.00. Now, I haven't made any effort to link to Shvoong from my blogs or websites; when I started Shvoong was new, so they may have some tips and tricks to get things moving for their writers; and I'm sure links would help. I may need to rese again.
For now, I must conclude that the effort you put in
