As Kids See It
My daughter, Sunaina is a great lover of ice-cream. Once due to throat infection, she could not take
even a single ice cream, during the entire summer. So her dad made her a promise, “Honey, do not be disheartened. Once you will get well, you can have as many of them as you like”. She was all of three years, soon after she got well; we went for vacation to Hyderabad, by A.P. Express. There, on seeing an ice-cream vendor in the train, she said, “Papa do you still remember your promise!” My husband called the vendor, and told him to give an ice cream each to Sunaina and her brother. He also made him ensure that in his consecutive visits to our compartment, he should continue giving them ice creams, till they themselves say no for it.
After successfully finishing four cups of them, she opted for a fifth one also. With the cup in hand, she came to her father and said, “Papa something must be terribly wrong with this ice-cream. I am trying my best to finish it up but it is not getting over.”
All our co passengers had a hearty laugh at this, an Army colonel who was taking keen interest in her activities commented, “How smartly she has shifted the blame to the ice cream”.
