We can be better if we want
The extraordinary
saga of a
small boy of only 5 years called Prince, who fell into a bore well hole which is 60 feet deep and rescued 50 hours later for a change not only brought out the best of the boy to survive the tragedy. More importantly it brought out the best of
human beings for a change. People who were not his family members, belonging to different castes, religions, languages were united for once in offering prayers in temples, mosques, churches, gurudwaras for the safety and well being of the child in danger. The army, the Civil Administration and rescue teams worked untiringly for 50 hours to save a little soul. For once, people put PRINCE before everything else. The entire country forgot their divisions among them on caste, religious, community basis. They were all united in praying for the safety and well being of a small kid who does not belong to their own family. This quality of empathy for others needs to be strengthened if we have to become better human beings. It shows that if one wants to be a better human being by praying for others from within their
hearts, it is not impossible. It shows that one should forget the artificial divisions in the society they themselves created. It shows that all can be united only if they listen to their hearts. From PRIME MINISTER to a rickshaw puller everybody prayed for his safety and well being. I
salute all those whose hearts missed a beat at the plight of the child and their genuine and heartfelt prayers for saving the child. It also brings out the fact that the Almighty is one and he answered the prayers of all because the cause is right. For once, the TV news channels did the right thing by keeping focus on the child who is an
ordinary child and did a commendable job. Otherwise they are used to filling their time slots with Politicians, Glamorous personalities etc. their decision to follow this extraordinary human saga of a small and ordinary child indeed touched the hearts of many. The army did an extraordinary job of rescuing the child in challenging situation. The celebrations round the country on the happy end of the saga are a proof that ordinary citizens felt so elated at this happy end. It shows that we are still capable of showing concern for others genuinely and from within their hearts. I salute the small wonder boy Prince for enduring the ordeal and coming back safely. I salute this wonder boy for uniting those people who are divided on caste, religious and community basis in normal times. I salute TV channels for keeping focus on the saga of an ordinary child and awakening the best traits in millions of people. I salute the army who did their best and saved the child.Let us learn from this saga a lesson that we should give importance to others as much as we give to ourselves. We must not get divided on caste, communal and religious basis but must be united on human values.
