Sofia's world

Book Summary by: Gespenst

Original Author: JOESTIN GAARDER
This abstract was translated from El mundo de Sofia
Sofia's world is an extraordinary book which makes us travel through the Philosophy and Sciences' History
in an amazing way.
The author uses literature to create an original atmosphere in which we can live joining to the main character to share a different reality and, at the same time, to get important and useful knowledge for our personal academic development.
Book gives us the chance of getting close to knowledge following a very singular path, from Greece's Masters until Modern Age, mixing a story full of life; It's a sharp and full-of-color story which doesn't let any emotion get away, sharing those emotions with the reader, who, once he started to read this book, will become a captive.
Captive of this mix of good writing and a smart managing of academic knowledge.
This is the main plot, the heart, the life of the book in itself. It has the magic of touching the humanity with a soft and wild caress which lets us live knowledge from another context, unknown for me until now.
Another positive aspect of this book is the simplicity on scientific and technician vocabulary which makes the book accessible for any reader.
Highschool students might be its target, too.
