One can find a number of definitions for the word
Friendship, by referring to a dictionary or by going through the different
opinions expressed by different people. According to me,
friendship is something, which satisfies all the senses of a human being. Nature is the best example; it should be the friend of man forever. It gives him all that he needs to lead a happy life without expecting anything from him in return.
Every family member may be a friend, but every friend may not be a family member, and that is greatness of a friend who cares for someone who is nothing to him.
The word Friendship comes into play in the life of a man right from his birth. As soon as the baby receives the invitation given by the mother, he comes out of the dark, lonely and uncomfortable womb to the world of light, companionship and freedom. As ‘birth’ brings him into this world, it is considered as his first friend. Man meets and lives with only temporary friends during his lifetime and only at the end of his life he meets a permanent friend ‘death’ who takes him to a world of eternity and be with him eternally.
Friendship can be seen. It can be seen in the innocence of children who share things with others. It can also be seen in the tender hands on the shoulder of one another. Friendship can be touched. It can be felt in the touch of the mother’s hand when the baby fails to walk in his initial days. It can be felt in the wet lick of a pet dog. Friendship can be heard. It is heard in the words, which express the feel of love and affection towards a person. Friendship can be tasted. It can be tasted when someone shares it with you. Friendship can be
smelled. It can be smelled in the many ways depending on the moment and situation.
Friendship is like a sealed perfume bottle, where a rich smell in hidden. And that smell can be spread all over the world only when it is opened and sprinkled on someone. Finally friendship is something that should be experienced and cannot be expressed in words.
