Being a Music Executive involves the entire process of producing music, from finding talent to choosing the music, hiring
technicians, background musicians and vocalists and engineers. To remain at the pinnacle, they constantly need up gradation in the newest trends and be able to deliver hits to the general public. One needs to be bold, and innovative to stay in this tough and competitive industry. Some music executives work independently to feed the fast changing music industry with the fickle young audience whose preferences change each day. There is a lot of money if you can make a name for yourself in the production of music and by finding good artists.
There are no formal courses for such positions. It all depends on your influences and informational interviews in the music industry. A background and knowledge in the field of music like instrumental, singing, technical knowledge in audio or recording technology and studies set up provides an advantage. A highly spirited industry, it requires a lot of hard work initially to get to the top.
Music executives may glide into the technical positions as sound technicians, or audio and recording managers. They can also seek other related jobs in the recording field or as background musicians, arrangers, composers and songwriters.
