While TV media has done a commendable job in giving latest updates on how
the terrorist bid to blow up several planes was foiled, the objectionable part of the coverage is the detailed description of how the innocent looking liquids can be made into powerful bombs to blast the planes mid air. The media is not only giving graphic description of the materials planned to be used by the terrorists, but also making it clear that most of the ingredients that go into making liquid bombs are available in local stores. This gives idea to some criminal
elements to even try these methods for easy gains.
The investigating
agencies must take care to see that dangerous details of plots of terrorists are not told in detail to the media or the public. The News Channels being the most instant and effective communication link in the modern world are advised caution and care in not sensationalizing the details for popularity purpose and help some anti social and criminal elements to make use of these techniques with devastating effect.
