Who Will They Live For
Who are ‘THEY’? It was a humid monsoon
afternoon in the month of January. I was staying in hostel while doing my MBA in Cochin, a city in the state of Kerala (India). It was an unforgettable afternoon of my life. Something happened on this day, which left an indelible mark in my mind.
I had just woken up from a brief siesta for a tea break. I was proceeding towards the cafeteria and suddenly some noise caught my attention so I moved in that direction. There I saw a group of our
batch mates talking about some
accident. Two of our batch mates (a
boy and a
girl) were involved in the road accident, which was caused by our institute’s staff bus. Initially, it appeared to me as a small accident. We were told that they have been taken to the hospital.
With each passing moment we were anxiously waiting for their well being. But after few hours, we got the shocking
news that they are in a serious condition. The environment turned grim in the hostel. We all started praying for them. Emotion ran high and few students could be seen crying in the corners and corridors.
Around midnight we got the news, which we never wanted to hear. The boy had passed away and the girl was in a deep coma.
This might seem a normal accident death but not after you take into consideration the following facts:
Boy had gone to the nearby telephone booth to wish his mother on her
birthday and immediately met with the fatal accident.
He left this world on his mother’s birthday and had arrived on his father’s birthday.
He was engaged few months before his death A week before his death he had celebrated New Year’s eve with his fiancée.
Two days before his death a palmist had predicted that he had a short life.
And you would be wondering who are ‘THEY’ ‘THEY’ are his FAMILY. Now tell me Who Will they live for?
