Continuing the Bible study of John

Article Summary by: BethanySarah

Original Author: Bethany S. Heard
Study 4:
John wrote of the power of Miracles – The good work of Jesus, the feats He could perform – Nothing but the
BEST!!! The Miracle was the making of the sweetest wine, just when everyone did not expect it – A gift from Christ! Something so divine was crafted from something so dull, ordinary, necessary – The wine had been water, but it was reborn into the most divinely flavourful wine… Someone who hates his brother, truly so, is sad, alone, and vulnerable, but our brothers’ can do wonders for us… Jesus, our Brother, did this for His brothers at the wedding party, and He considers Himself our brother also… He will do the same for us. One who loves his brother lives in his brother’s heart, is present and forefront in his brother’s mind, is next to him, dwelling with him, even when parted… Brothers like this would die for one another, and always consider the sacrifice worth it, if it saved the other brother, and/or meant they could be together… Jesus is this brother to us. Do we want to be His brother??? Do we want to love our Brother (brothers’), and share a bond with Him that means the world to us, or do we want to hate our (b/) Brother, and let the world become all, the only, and everything, not knowing the joy of having a (our/The) brother..??? John wrote, here, an old Command, in that it was one that encouraged brotherhood, tolerance, and obedience… But he, too, was writing a new Command – One that said : Think of Jesus as your Brother. Have a sibling relationship with our Saviour. Love Him as a brother – Be that close to Him. Verse 9 of John’s word is similar to Matthew’s recollections of John working for the Lord, and of the life changing events of Simon-Peter, Andrew James and John, when they were called to become Fishermen for the Lord… Miracles can be worked right under the noses of all the non-believers’. You can make a difference, make the world a better place, by turning to your Father… Trust in Him to transform you and your life, the things you see, hear, know, and understand – Count on Him to rock your world! On Him to change things for the better, on Him to surprise you sweetly!!! Have Faith in this teaching. Trust to the Lord, as is the instruction within, or else, there will be nothing but barren destruction within (you)… There is no point to that, only evil. Do not waste yourself so, your prosperity or potential – Turn to Our Heavenly Father, YOUR Heavenly Father!!!
Study Five:
John wrote this next part of his Letter (s) in very simple terms, very simple terminology. He wrote this way because, perhaps, he was trying to communicate how Jesus’ mission permeated and pervaded His every move His every day life… How a simple day out can be transformed into a way to reach the masses. Shown here, by John, for Jesus. John wrote like this to reach everyone, to make us ALL thing about our actions, and how Jesus might perceive them, and how He can just as simply turn our lives upside down… It would be much simpler if He didn’t have to. If we just tried to walk with Him anyway… We are spiritual children in that Jesus came to help us learn to tidy our toys away from the floor, and concentrate… Concentrate on God. Spiritual Fathers do this, and children learn from their example, so it is a spiritual father’s duty to do this… A spiritual young man is what we all tend to be, regardless of actual gender. We are spirited, not always with Spirit, and we are stubborn, heedless, and careless. We need Mother-Love to put up with us, Fatherly Love to take us into tuition and shelter. John addresses these different levels of Spiritual Maturity by simply showing us Jesus’ actions, here on Earth, and Jesus’ will and obedience to please His own Father. John shows us (in Jesus) a man working hard to communicate all these levels to us, as John himself does, too…
