Choice
Choice enables us to transform ourselves, to change. It is this consciousness that allows us to be aware of
ourselves. If we make a choice that keeps us as we are, it is as if we have made no choice at all. The only bad choice is no choice at all, to be in denial. It is through making the choice that we know we should make but don't that we will be truly free. We continue to make
choices until perfection. There is a point at which the choices get easier and more enjoyable. They are higher level choices. Our choices become mere design and our lives a work of art. To make choice without being swayed by our physical needs of gratification. It is ironic that we could free ourselves in an instant. We could realise far greater knowing, a pure knowing, than the security we could ever only feel in the throws of our favourite earthly delights.
The limits that we experience are only decisions that we are not aware of. Perhaps we don't want to be aware of these choices because we hold in our minds the unbearable stress we would be under to make the right choice. Once again, the choice is easy when you can see things for what they are and the unbearable stress is replaced by infinite heavenly light (as with everything in life there are two aspects to everything, it is how we perceive it that makes it real). It will become clear that there is no stress at all. There is no need to apply force in the right direction as everything is perfect. There is only a need to be aware and understand what each question asks of us. It is often the case that what appears to be the easy path is actually the darkest. We are led along, inch by inch, with the artificial glow, deeper and deeper into the darkness. It doesn't matter how deep we are, we can find ourselves in the light at any moment. We must just accept all the
mistakes (wrong choices) we have made up until that point. Unfortunately, the more mistakes we have made, the more difficult it is to accept them (our egos are stubborn, deceptive creatures which would rather focus on the faint glow just ahead), the programming of the ego is basically, "I am never wrong."
My only real fear is of the choices I will make in the future. Will I be strong enough to do what I know I must do? Will I accept myself and my mistakes? Why do we have an 'ego'? Why is there temptation? Why are there things that are bad for us?
