Original Author: Iranian
Iranian director Hossein Mosafer Astaneh plans to stage a play entitled "Love Resurrection" at the UNESCO headquarters in
Paris as part of the organization's celebration of the 800th birth anniversary of Molana Jalal al-Din Rumi (1207-1273) in 2007. Written by Mohammad Rahmanian, "Love Resurrection" is a musical spiced with sama' (the Sufi ecstatic dance and ritual). The play will depict Rumi's life in twelve stages. The first stage is dedicated to Rumi's death and the other stages are all flashbacks, Mosafer Astaneh told.He previously directed "Blasphemy Ode" in Paris in March and April."The program has been arranged by Iran's cultural attache in Paris, and the play will be performed without dialogue. The image is an international language, and since various nations are to see the play, our stress will be on images, music, and movement," he explained.Leading actors Nader Rajabpur, Saeid Dakh, and Asghar Faridi Masuleh are also the choreographers of the play, which is currently being rehearsed at Tehran's Vahdat Hall.Behzad Javedanfar, Mohsen Torabi-Gudarzi, Ali Barati, Ali-Akbar Mosafer, Bahador Fazel, Reza Rad, Neli Reihani, Zohreh Aqalu, Elnaz Tarikhi, Ramak Far-Khojasteh, Ghazleh Soheili, Neda Sayyas, and Lida Fat'hollahi are the other cast members, and Saeid Zehni will compose the music for the play.
