COMMON Vs. INDIVIDUAL INTEREST

Book Summary by: SANTOSH KUMAR MISHRA

Original Author: SANTOSH KUMAR MISHRA
COMMON VS. INDIVIDUAL INTERESTThe feeling of wanting to give your attention to something or of wanting to be involved with
and to discover more about something is called 'interest' or 'involvement'. There are two types of interest/involvements viz. individual and common interest. Both ofthem are OK till they do not interfere each other. But the moment they either partly or wholly interferes each other a chaotic situation arises. In a society every individual is having their own interest. They have freedom to choose it for their own. The life style of every individual differs from one another. There are mainly three categories of people residing in a society. They are:1) those who are leading a minimum life style. They are always from hand to mouth, 2) those who are leading a comfort life style. Their minimum basic requirements are always fulfilled and 3) the third category people always maintain a life beyond comfortable. They spend a hefty amount to maintain luxurious life. Since all these involves income capacity of individuals it is too difficult to bring a parity in lifestyle of the entire people in the society. There are some common interests based on which the entire society runs. Any act of violation to these interests makes the entire society unstable. Sometimes, it becomes the route cause of communal violence. Take the example of showing body with less clothes in commercial advertisements and making advertisement of adult wears, especially showing the way of using it. Both the advertisers and sponsors should consider that what they are showing in the advertisement is also being seen by the minors. The awkward situation like baby asking his/her parents about the adult products who remains unanswerable to them, are created. Sometimes people adopt wrongful ways to become popular overnight and remain in the lime light. Later they clarify that it is their personal affair and nobody should interfere in it. But this is not accepted by most of the people in a society because of the very fact that God has created mainly two genders in the world. Showing illicit gestures or bare body to the opposite sex is nothing but insult to all people belonging to that particular sex. This is against the law of nature. An individual has, in anyway, no right to make a show of his/her body parts publicly, pretending it of his private matter. He/she should at least consider that in the name of individual privacy he/she is going to tarnish the dignity of entire human beings belonging to that particular sex because the human body bestowed by the God is equal to all. Peculiar activities like smoking in the public place, where the smoke emanates from the mouth of smoker is inhaled by the people present there, creates a very unhygienic atmosphere. Due to ignorance of a smoker, a number of people present there become silent smokers which is more hazardous to their health than the direct smoker. Here congregation of people in the public place is not wrong. But the person who is smoking at the public place should be held responsible having interfering in the rights of common public to get together. Everybody has the right to choose a profession to earn and lead a better life. This is universally accepted and recognized by the world body. But if it, in any way, interferes with the profession adopted by other individuals bringing harm to him , special care should be take for it.
