Loving What Is

Book Summary by: vardit

Original Author: Vardit
Loving What IsFor thousand of years we've been told not to judge but we still do it all the time: How our friends should
act, what our parents should feel, do or say…The 10 Million question: How can I love what is?-So simple!...Living without hatred! Without wanting anything to be different! Just accepting, and knowing that everything is exactly as it should be…From time to time we are being reminded of this advise, and we would like so much to live like that.…But it seems it's not so simple…Louise L.Hay said : Love yourself, heal your life. She wrote a workbook in which for every beief you believe about yourself, there is an affirmation you can cure this belief by saying to yourself.( For example: belief: I am afraid of anger. Affirmation: I acknowledge my feelings. It is safe for me to recognize my anger.)Another great and charismatic American woman, Byron Katie, .Stepped another step with the idea. Shebuilt what she called The Work. If you are interested in having a happier life,You can read about the tools she gives and they will help you to transform any problem, from everyday conflicts to lifelong traumas, into peace and understanding. If you are bothered by something that doesn't let you be comfortable with yourself, you only have to ask four questions that will help you to investigate your stressful belief (for example: My husband doesn't love me).In The Work, rather than suppress these judgments, we use them as starting points for self- realization. By letting the judging mind have it's life on paper we can discover through the mirror of those around us what we haven't yet realized about ourselves. The questions:1 .Is it true (what I think about him/her)?2. Can I absolutely know that it's true?3. How do I react when I believe that thought?4. Who would I be without the thought?(How would I live life differently if I didn't think the thought?)After contemplating and writing your answers, remember to turn it (the thought) around( as if you thought the contrary thought).Imagine you are meeting this person for the very first time with no story. What do you see? Who are you right now , sitting here without that thought? After you have turn around the judgments in your answers ,you can come to a point that you will see the enemy as a friend, and till then your work is not done. You will feel inner peace ,even when you think of that person.A good example of explaining that the only way to improve your life is inside yourself,Is what Byron Katie says about herself: In her experience, it takes only one person to have a successful relationship. She likes to say she has the perfect marriage, and she can't really know what kind of marriage her husband has (though he tells her he's happy too)…Byron Katie has Schools all over the world, She trains group instructors ,usually psychologists or social workers, so that in many countries you can learn and apply her method .It makes me feel the world is becoming better and better! If we only remember that failure is a state of mind…therefore it's possible to fail?-Is it true?-No,it's not possible!
