We lived dominated of work, full of activities,
papers, numbers, and sometimes little time removed for us to make a reflection.
Certain day of these, I was aiding my son of twelve years old in their tasks of Geography, when something in his notebook made to be amazed and to stop to think. I distribute the text for all my work friends, that they are not few. I will transcribe the text of the notebook Ipsis Literis, with our griffins: ' In the threshold of the century XXI, the Brazil is one of the champions in social inequality.
Democratic in the appearance, the Brazilian society is still essentially cruel and authoritarian. Our democracy concept is extremely limited, restricted just to the juridical plan, being expressed in pompous sentences, as: '
all are same before the law' or '
the whole person is entitled to the vote for'. Actually, the authentic democracy didn't arrive to the daily life of the people (us) we didn't democratize the access to the knowledge, to the wealth, to the health, to the minimum material conditions for a worthy life.
We lived in practice, a great social apartheid. On a side an elite showing a standard of living of first world and enjoying the democratic rights, of other, an enormous people mass, malnourished.
The Brazil possesses about 32.000 of miserable. They form an immense legion of having excluded: without-roof, starving urban, people that live together daily with the hunger, the
suffering, the violence and the diseases. It is the poverty
generating more poverty, it is the prejudice generating more prejudice' .
Like this, people of the world: what to wait to the scenery of what we called from country is this? If our children are being educated today with this thought,
what to wait of the Future? I believe that it is arrived the people humanists' of this whole world hour, if they unite to rethink the directions that the society is proceeding.
It is arrived the hour of a New Reform to avoid that the people of this planet suffer more than are suffering already today.
We needed to become aware that it is in the people's hour to recover his/her dignity before it is late.
