India as a
nuclear power
First of all, coming to what india is today, we can very well say that ,our nation,is amongst
the most prominent in the world. And one of the circumstances where india has shown its prominence isits recognition as a
nuclear power.India has succedded in evolving her own nuclear technology. And today, our nation has done great progress in the field of nucear technology. Our scientists, who are amongst the best in the world can compete with the best technicians and experts of the western world. And it is provingto be very beneficial for us, as in one way, it keeps our country protected and also it is opening doors for us to join other countries and improve nuclear tecnology to rid the world from the conventional use of energy. One such example is the proposal of the Indo-US nuke deal, for which the American president came down to India with the proposal.
Now, there are a few countries which have the know how for nuclear science. The countriesof us, uk, france, china and russia form the so called "nuclear club".India joined the 'nuclear club' on the18th of may,1974 when India perfomed her first nuclear test in the rajasthan desert near pokhram. India perfomed her second nuclear test on the 11th and13th of may,1998 which, with its high intensity terrified the whole world. After this even
pakistan followed suit by exploding an atomic bomb to equal the military might of india.
This, in fact is one of the instances where we see the radical competition between different countries.
Now again, recently we saw North Korea perfoming their nuclear test and Iran announcing that they would not stop the research work in nuke energy. And that's not the end, just a couple of months ago, a settelite photo revealed that Pakistan is making a reactor that would produce protium for 40 to 50 nuclear weapons a year.
These are some indications that show the mounting tensionin the worldhas risen to such an extent that just a small spark is needed to turn it into a conflagration. Therefore, it becomes our duty to contradict this visual war and help humanity strive longer.
