The elections are over in the United States. New
members of the senate and house are of the democratic party. The president
is a republican with only two years left in office. His past decisons have upset many of those from the other side of the aisle. His mideast policy has not rested lightly with the minority leaders. Now we will have a woman as speaker of the house and third in line to the presidency. What will happen now? Will our view of Iraq change drastically or just slightly? Will they be able to work in unison as far as our mideast allies are
concerned. The world will be watching how these new powers will handle affairs here in the U.S. and abroad. Maybe the war in Iraq and Afghanistan was wrong. Maybe we were right. Whatever the answer, we are there. We still have troops dying just about every day. Countless
members of our armed forces have been wounded. We are there because our president and his staff chose to go there. Members of the senate and congress voted to support him then. Now when electoral seats are up for grabs, they turn their back on him. Again, what will happen? We can prayer these supposed well learned person behave in a manner that is professional and in the best interest of all American citizens. We can hope the rest of the world leaders can join us in making and keeping the countries safe and free from terrorism. As a concerned veteran,this is one person's hope they will work together and show the rest of the world what we are really made of. Only time will tell.
