Abusing vehicle or manIt was a learning experience being scolded by my boss when I closed his
Mercedes forcefully. I had experienced with my ambassador, unless you close it with
pressure-its door will not close. So I applied similar kind of pressure or force to ensure that the rear door gets closed properly. You know-what he said-Don’t abuse vehicle. It is an insult. And he looked at me angrily. I was feeling little differently. The Mercedes doors are heavier than any other vehicle, so will require more pressure.I had seen in Maharashtra, an Indian State that during Vijay Dashmi
festival, residents and locals in villages and suburban areas garland their vehicle, affix Tilak –a symbol of respect on forehead of Cow, buffalo, other animals which are used may it be Motorbike or Scooter or Car or Tractor or truck and even animals which they used for cultivating land or for milk. This festival is also called as `Shustra-Astra Poojan` i.e. worshipping Tools and Arms.Scolding by my boss reminded me of this festival when arms and tools are honored while remembering the bravery of fore fathers, freedom fighters and patriots who gave in their life for the cause of community and country. Of course, this is the day when Lord Ram won over Ravan.I took the message as a good piece of an advice and started advising everybody who pushed door of my vehicle forcefully. I noticed, it bounces back and does not get closed. I was trying to relate this phenomenon with human temperament. The more you apply force or express anger, the receptivity is poor and rather reaction is visible. But the fact remains, human has not gained that status equivalent to that of a thing you love most. Sometime you love your vehicle, your book, house, animal, flowers so much that you tend to curse, abuse human being. Can we ponder over?It is difficult to develop love for human being. Let this be an objective we normally choose impossible to achieve.
