Book Summary by: Satail

Original Author: Joyce
I Want to Plant a GardenThe sweet red bell peppers are the first seeds to plant indoors as soon as you want to. The little
white flowers tell you they are there close by perfuming the atmosphere with a wonderful scent. It makes me want to stay right there instead of passing by to something else. The Lord Jesus must have had a great enjoyment in putting the perfect smell into the glowing face of each flower. Even the leaves put out a fragrance that suits their kind. Can you think of all the smells that Jesus thought of? What is the next thing to plant in the garden? Are you going to have things to look at only as in the beautiful flowers or are you going to walk through a strawberry patch and sniff at the red berries. Long green beans make such a lovely meal addition. The fresh onions just picked, sets it off right. Bright yellow sunflowers make a yellow frame or back ground on the garden setting. The arbor with rosy pink blooms is truly an awesome sight. Smell this one, it will stagger you. The Virginia Creeper flourishes most any where it finds a piece of dirt. Its big dark green leaves make beautiful ground cover and a wonderful archway. The garden would not be complete without the row of tomato plants. We made tomato cages to keep them off the ground. Oh. Oh, Oh, are they delicious!!!! Hopefully the garlic will keep some bugs away and also keep you well. The variety of squash is nearly endless. Some of them are a sweet flavor and some have the more vegetable trend, like the patty pan or scallop squash. They are so good. Everyone likes to talk about their favorite foods. Don’t forget the beets and carrots. They are under the ground so you can’t see them but the tops are pretty and the beet tops are delicious. Carrot tops are a nice addition to the bouquet of flowers. Flowers on the chives last quite a while and dry nicely for a winter bouquet. Chopped chives make a super decoration on the mashed potatoes or entrée. We really enjoy the big red potatoes. They do grow here but we like to get the ones from the prairies. So now you can add the freshness of the garden to your meals. The different kinds of what you can plant is endless so-just do it.You will have so much fun watching the power of God at work on your garden.Joyce Weber SS #1 Boston Bar, B.C.
