Genetics with religion

Book Summary by: Maanasa

Original Author: Maanasa
An wonderful evening at the childrens park where I was talking a walk ,I saw a kid learning to walk..holding the benches
in the lawn.He was wondering what these big big things around him were, the bright colours attracting him more ,and sometimes looks around and keep smiling.I was really having fun watching him tremble sometimes, and looks around to see whether any one noticed him fall, and if anyone did he used to start crying or else very well gets up and then tries to walk again.Sitting on the bench I was enjoying the kids show and meanwhile a couple sat beside me .I know bad mannerisms but I overheard their conversation as I could not walk away listening a bit of it.It was the discussion about getting artificial insemination done and the saddest part is they were discussing to get to know the religion of the sperms.Such an awful thing I ever heard in my life.I was quite upset that day hearing the conversation thinking how can people firstly relying on someone for help and demanding religion for their orthodox beliefs. What a shame.Kids are such a pure form of soul that God made. One of his best creations, how can you start corrupting even that?Next morning I read in the Times Of India an article of Abantika Ghosh, were I read that in India sperm has religion and caste.Asurvey by TOI shows that the most often asked questions is about religion. Couples wish to know the religion of the donor, and given the sensitivities involved, doctors usually tell and comply with requests.Couples also wish to know the donor’s caste, but this question isn’t so frequent, and doctors claim they refuse to entertain the query.Given the obsession about fair complexion in India,it’s not surprising that couples ask whether the donor is fair, some ask for height too.According to the Apollo doctors around 25%ask of caste, while cryogenie puts the figure at 10%,60% ask for the religion.I really was upset to see whats in store of most of the people in India.I personally feel ,asking the health details or regarding the genetic is fine because the child may suffer from problems ahead but asking about the religion and caste for their motives its really a matter of shame.Awake India!!We have more things to think over on then why to waste our dignity in such matters where we ourselves cant look into our eyes because of our doing one day.Children are the best thing In this world better not indulge them indirectly or directly in the worldly selfish thinking and narrow thinking.
