One of the hardest things in life is to acknowledge self worth. To take in all the things that something, somewhere inside
of you has already taken in, and essentially just feel them. Feel them for everything they are; for nothing they are not.
Once we take ourselves seriously, all follow. Is this true? In my experience, it has been a relatively effective method of gaining a type of recognition. However, today I realize that my
significance should be self acknowledged and completley distinct from recognition. I ask myself, why do we want, more interestingly, why do we need the followers? I strongly believe that this is our worlds most aggrevating contradiction. The fact that we are lectured continuously about respecting and loving ourselves, however if no one else shares that same respect or love for us, suddenly we have lost significance. That moment where you look in the mirror and smile has lost credibility because the others around us have decided we are not worthy of that smile.
In my world, in my life, and most importantly, in me I have decided that my own self
acknowledgement will never be compromised. My own significance will never be determined by those who take it upon themselves to do so. There are two questions being asked in this world today:
1) Inadequate is the man who fails to gain acknowledgement?
2) Inadequate is the man who fails to acknowledge self?
Live for you. Not for others. So, how would you answer that question?
