inner world. These nine lessons were originally given as a lecture series at an evening
institute in leeds, England. The over all theme of this book is introduction of meditation
into one's own practival life, one not only gains real peace of mind, but also a more positive
and healthy attitude towards life. In short it is a meditation course in the written form with
clear guidance with inspiration. The form of meditation here is called the Rajayoga.
The emphasis of this book is two folded i.e., firstly to teach a simple, effective method
of meditationcalled Rajayoga, and to discuss and experiment with ideas on how to deepen the eperiences gained;
Secondly, to look at the reasons behind stress and tension in my life so that, through
understanding I can begin to hange the root causes, using the power gained through meditation:
and also to clarify how I ca translate peaceful feelings into peaceful actions, so that peace
becomes peace becomes peace of mind. The first chapter throuws light on the importance, emphasis ,thoughts
and practice of meditation in a simple english. The Second chapter unfolds the self conscious in other words
explores the" Who am I?".Through this lesson one can regain confidence and self-respect . The third lesson tells
about the soul and soul consciousness.Soul consciousness is understood as the best factor to be natural in
the company of others. This easiness on my part helps them to relax, as they don't feel that I have expectations of them.
The fourth lesson aims at providing the meaning of mind and its
faculties and its joint function of intellect and sanskaras together.
To attain peace of mind it is necessary to keep the balance . The keeping of the balance is the fifth lesson where knowing,
being, becoming and giving are been interpreted in the context of the Yoga. The famous Karma theory is explained in the
sixth lesson to emphasis on the actions and reactions in spiritual sphere.
The senventh lesson highlights on the supreme .The supreme here is recognised as the supreme soul and is a point of source
of consciousness a spark of light energy. The eighth lesson gives us the idea of cultivating the havit of saying past is past
and encourages to face forward barring negitive feelings with guilty consciousness.
The ninth and last lesson enlights finally on the eight powers that is tolerance, courage, co-operation, accommodation,
discrimination, judgement, and the powersto withdraw thoughts and to be free from waste thoughts.
As a whole this book becomes a source of inspiration, possitivity and
happiness for yourself and for those with whom you interact.
