hierarchy or strata system where everyone is subjected to their respected categories—the royal families, the aristocrats, then normal citizen and the slaves. Though they may have different identities, but they are actually interrelated. Meaning that, compared to the use of “hierarchy”, the use of “circle” is more appropriate. It was the king that made the slaves, and it was also the
slaves that made the king. Everyone played a role in regard to their occupations, status and ranks, and also properties.
Nowadays, the system is still maintained. The hidden hierarchy system is still playing a crucial part in men’s daily lives—sometimes without our realization. We still cannot accept the thought that humans are equal. Even men and women are fighting over the issue of equality. To call ourselves selfish, I think it is not wrong. We are selfish in a way that we want to achieve something to accomplish our target. Indirectly, one’s success leads to other’s failure. The opportunities will be limited then.
Yes, one might say they work hard and put in a lot of effort to reach their goal. Yet the
goal is not meant to be shared by others. If a company has a job vacancy, will it spare for an extra vacant if there are two persons asking for the same job?
