Does anyone know the true meaning of christmas any more? Well I
do, but people here have gone crazy. They are in the streets, the
malls, the cafes, the restaurents, etc. and they are gone mad. It's the
silly season as my boyfriend calls it, he or I do not give gifts to one
another we save the money that we were going to spend and we put it
toward a trip in the future. It's great and then we get to spend time
together with each other away from our home and relatives. Not that I
wouldn't like to spend christmas with family, but my family is on the
other side of the world and my boyfriends family is on the other side
of Canada. So it is just in our little apartment as usual. But I
am not negative or anything, I still think people are mad you can't
even cross the streets here without having your wits about you even
more than in the regular year. So does any one know the true meaning of
christmas anyway myself and my boyfriend do. I worked as a preschool
teacher for about five years and when this silly season came about we
couldn't mention anything about Jesus or the religious aspect of
things, which is rediculous. I feel children should now about the true
meaning instead of all the greedness that goes on in the world of
getting gifts. Every thing children see here they want and ask Santa
for. Instead of saying; could I give my gifts to
someone who can't afford a christmas, who is homeless? Some
children do, the parents make sure they know about the homeless and
children less fortunate than they are, but most parents just spoil
their children rotten, which is not fair to the rest and they grow up
to be little monsters. Who want everything in sight. So this year
please to all you people out there please give to the poor , homeless,
and children who are less fortunate than you are and think about
all those people in New Orleans and every where else the hurricains hit
where most of the people don't even have a place to sleep or eat there
dinner yet. Where are they going to spend the christmas ? Think about
and give to those who need it! It will make you feel that you have done
something productive this silly season. Thank you and a MERRY CHRISTMAS
TO YOU AND YOURS this holiday and a very happy birth to Jesus.
