SANSKRIT AND INDIA

Article Summary by: BHAGAWAN

Sanskrit and India
We all desire that
our prayers to the Almighty are answered. But in Hinduism especially, all
the
prayers, slokas, Vedas, are in Sanskrit language. Sanskrit language often
called as language of Gods is unknown to 95% of Hindus. If we say a prayer
whose meaning we are not sure of , can we get rewarded by the Almighty? Public
at large are ignorant about the essence and meaning of prayers and rituals that
they perform. Not knowing what you are praying, not knowing the meaning of
rituals like in marriages has given rise to caste-ism  which is the greatest bane of India.
It is very essential
to know the content and essence of mantras, slokas, Vedas and rituals
thoroughly before they are performed. For this, Sanskrit need to be made into
the national language and people should be taught Sanskrit along with their
mother tongue. All the states must adopt this formula so that Sanskrit instead
of Hindi will evolve as the national language and link language between all the
regions of the country. Besides it enables people to connect to the prayers,
Vedas , mantras and slokas. Once we gain good command over the language of
Sanskrit, and read and understand our spiritual texts, prayers etc, it will
remove the artificial barriers that divide Hindus into upper and lower castes
and make us more broad minded and appreciative of each other.
Sanskrit can
definitely bond Hindus and Indians well and make them a cohesive and united
population. Most importantly, we will realize ourselves the inner meaning and
essence of the vedic texts, puranas, mantras and slokas that contain not just
teachings on good conduct. Vedas and puranas are the fountain of knowledge
containing all the principles of science, arts, diplomacy, good conduct, good
governance and every thing that is needed for human development and happiness.
I quote only one
example that is valid yesterday, today, tomorrow and for ever.
It is about concept
of Debt from the Vedas and shastras of Hinduism.
On debt:
It is advisable that
man avoids taking debt for any purpose. How ever if the real need arises for a
very genuine reason, a person can take a that much debt that  he can repay without any problem in the
shortest possible time. Every person must discharge all his debts and
obligations before death. A person who dies with debts outstanding waits for
his journey to the other worlds. His spirit hovers without moving further. Atma
of such person suffers terribly unless his immediate successors repay the debts
of the departed person with interest. Then only the spirit will be released
from pain and start its journey to the other worlds. Incase of death of a debt
ridden person, who has no sons or daughters, his grand sons or his close family
relations must discharge all the debts of the deceased. In this case they must
pay back the principal amount and discharge the debts. Then only the spirit of
the dead starts its forward journey.
If we all know the
meaning, we will not borrow for prestige or social status sake and spend lavish
amounts that can not be repaid by us or beyond our repayment capacity. The
Hindu texts, in other words ordain that man must limit his desires to the bare
minimum and borrow only if there is a real emergency. Even that borrowing to be
within the limits and repayment capacity of the borrower.
Vedas, shastras,
puranas contain secrets of science, war, money , and every thing and any thing
that we need to be guided. Even the
principle E=MC^2 has been formulated from them. The nuclear theory, aero
space theory, mathematics etc have all come from these Vedas, shastras and
puranas.
So it is necessary
for all to learn Sanskrit and gain useful knowledge that helps them in this
world as well as the worlds that we were to migrate after our death.
