Indonesia
is an archipelago country. There
are many islands in Indonesia such as Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Java, Bali, Irian
Jaya, and so forth. Uniquely, each has culture which differentiates one to
others. Here, I’d like to share one of culture in Indonesia especially culture
from Java.
Actually,
there are a lot of cultures in Java, start from traditional clothes, dishes, dance,
etc. The interesting and different from Java with others is in its writing. If others have and know alphabetical writing
from A to Z that consist of twenty six letters, Java has Javanese writing
called ‘Aksara Jawa’ from HA to NGA which only consist of twenty letters. Here
is the Javanese writing or ‘Aksara Jawa’ ;
Ha Na Ca
Ra Ka
Da Ta Sa Wa La
Pa Dha Ja Ya Nya
Ma Ga Ba Tha Nga
In fact, this writing has the meaning inside. Ha Na Ca
Ra Ka means that ono cerito (there is
a story). Da Ta Sa Wa La means that data lan
sawala (data and debate). Pa Dha Ja Ya Nya means that podo joyone (keep victorious). Ma Ga Ba Tha Nga means that manggo batang ipon (manggo ipon stem).
In
conclusion, Javanese writing or ‘Aksara Jawa’ is part of Indonesian culture
which is contained in Java Island. It is easy to learn and please. How unique
and beautiful it is!
