This is an interview-type article by Bookreporter.com showcasing the life and works of Jodi Picoult. Author Jodi Picoult was born and raised on Long Island, New York, in the United States. She had a happy childhood and used her family-oriented experiences as a basis for her characters. She studied creative writing at Princeton, and while there, had several short stories published in Seventeen Magazine. When she was offered payment for her writing, she immediately and enthusiastically called her mother to declare she was going to be a writer. While writing, she held various other jobs such as copywriter at an ad agency, editor for a textbook publisher, technical writer for a brokerage firm, and an 8th grade English teacher. After this, she entered Harvard to pursue a Master’s degree in education. Her first novel, ‘Songs of the Humpback Whale, was completed while she was pregnant with her first child. Other novels include ‘Harvesting the Heart,’ ‘Picture Perfect,’ ‘Mercy,’ ‘The Pact,’ ‘Keeping Faith,’ ‘Plain Truth,’ ‘Salem Falls,’ ‘Perfect Match,’ ‘Second Glance,’ ‘My Sister’s Keeper,’ ‘Vanishing Acts,’ and ‘Tenth Circle.’ She has carved her own niche with her novels, proving that she can authentically write about courtroom drama, difficult family situations, and social interaction. Jodi Picoult currently lives in Hanover, New Hampshire with her husband and three children. This article can be viewed at: http://www.bookreporter.com/authors/au-picoult-jodi.asp
