A good poetry is not created by following a recipe, but rather by reading and studying other poetry, and then writing your own, following your own thoughts and impressions. Your poem will start as a tune in your head. Poetry is found in many forms. Among these are ballads, nursery rhymes, songs, popular verse, and free verse. Find the right form for you, then apply your thoughts, ideals, and notions to paper. You may be surprised what you eventually come up with. Once you’ve thoroughly critiqued your poem, and brought it before a critique group, you may want to submit it for publication.
