I was thrilled absolutely when I received my degree in Drama/English and another 2 degrees were to follow which were awarded by the famous University of Southampton .. here in the beautiful south. But I must admit if any society is conscious of /accent/this society is born out of accent .. it breathes thinks and IS accent .. I spent my life teaching /accent/ .. I spent my life .. eliminating /accent/ I spent my life ..
dealing with accent .. and as a result I am an Accent Expert even to this day I have given an impromptu talk on the bus coming into town on the much heralded subject of Accent!
My conclusion is that we live in an Accent Free Society .. certainly in the world of English. My companion noted that I have an accent .......... here or there English Accent is all one can say as the rest confuses the audience . since we are in agreement that we all speak and write in English, but then I have an belated affection for foreign languages and foreign accents but I think my passion for that Foreign Languages is unrequited . since its the English Accent I deal with exclusively!
