Sartorial elegance on the blue bus in Southampton this morning brightened our way into a weekend of hot dusty sunshine here
in the Beautiful South of England where the weather is anything but cold! In fact I read it was as hot as Turkey but then who is checking!
The day began with a news item on the Queen's grandson Prince Harry who has been made welcome by America .. doesnt it make a change then from Europe where there is some sort of snub in the offing!
Any where any time any how .. my book is on No 1 page on USA publishers website so I am grinning like a Cheshire cat all the way to the bank ...
There is however, an error on the system and I couldnt get my card to work so I wondered if the reason was ... the computer crash a recent event .. the upside down reading of the system ... or another of this crazy system that doesnt work when you want it to but will be OK tomorrow. Still its all in a day's work and I await my Lifetime
Achievement Award here in Europe and in the UK .. possibly something to do with European Election Fever here in Southampton .. .
I was chatting with the young man at
Waterstones and waxing lyrical about my book on page 1 of USA publishers website and at my age .. I am a 60 something to be precise I am 63 years young but he replied "Oh!" "Catherine Cookson wasnt published until she was 71!" So I am a youngish first published author in the USA .. what a nice remark from the Young Man at Waterstones .. the sky is the limit as far as best selling authors are concerned .. nice work!
