Keith
Waterhouse author has died aged 80 and he probably will be best known for his novel "Billy Liar" which shed a dim light
on post war Britain ... which reads rather like an episode out of one of my stories about the standard lamp I once had in my drawing room the purpose of which was to ease the pain of bright sunshine pouring in the patio door which caused headaches and agonizing mistakes when typing up my work! I had to work late at night in the evening shadows.
The passing of National Writers such as Keith
Waterhouse is noted in Britain by the BBC and in the middle of one of Radio 3s programmes on the Proms its announced that this author has died!
Sometimes the shock of hearing on the radio about the death of a National Hero is too much for the listener so there is an need to escape out to the Common and go for a walk just to get in some exercise and relaxation before another busy weekend ... sad news from BBC Radio 3!
